The science is straightforward: a small amount of your blood is drawn (similar to a routine blood test) and placed in a centrifuge that spins at high speed. This separates your blood into its components, concentrating the platelets — tiny cells packed with growth factors, cytokines, and proteins that are essential for tissue repair and regeneration. This concentrated platelet-rich plasma is then applied to or injected into the treatment area.
For facial PRP, the concentrated plasma is applied to the skin after microneedling or during a facial, allowing the growth factors to penetrate into deeper skin layers. Over the following weeks, these factors stimulate fibroblast activity (collagen-producing cells), promote new blood vessel formation, and accelerate cell turnover.
